What To Know When Getting Ready for A Dubai Tour

Dubai is famous for its stunning architecture, extravagant malls, glittering skylines, and amazing adventure activities. It’s also one of the most progressive cities in the Middle East and accepts multiple faiths and cultures. If you plan to travel to the city, here are a few things you must know when getting ready for a Dubai tour.

Handling Money in Dubai

Google Pay, credit cards, PhonePay, and debit cards are commonly accepted in Dubai. But we suggest carrying some cash, as it’s easier to haggle in the traditional souks. You’ll also need them for smaller transactions in tiny eateries and for tips. You can exchange your money for an AED at the airport or the hotel, but we suggest you wait until you get to the city as you’ll get better rates. Credit cards are the best because you’ll get the added benefit of travel insurance, purchase protection, and other rewards. Visa and Mastercard are the most commonly accepted cards, although American Express and Discover are accepted in select places.

Before you spend your credit card, check with them about the foreign transaction fees, currency conversion fees, and other hidden charges. In contrast, some prepaid travel cards don’t levy currency conversion fees and allow ATM withdrawals.

What To Carry And What Not To Carry

The UAE has a zero-tolerance policy towards drugs, including prescription medicines and even poppy seeds. Check with your doctor to ensure the prescription medication is controlled or not. You must also carry the prescription for the quantity of medicines you carry. Similarly, you cannot carry adult content, anything made in Israel, or items bearing Israeli trademarks or logos. While you can carry religious books, photos, stone sculptures, books, or magazines, contrary to Islam’s teachings are not allowed.

Leave Your Modern Views in Your Home Country

Dubai is a modern country accepting of different religions. But homosexuality is illegal, and so are cross-dressing transsexuality and gender fluidity. These are punishable by law and fines. LGBTQ+ websites and dating apps are blocked and not accessible in the country. Public display of affection, even among heterosexuals, isn’t encouraged. In fact, Dubai is ranked 191st out of 199 countries in terms of LGBTQ acceptability.

Make A List of Attractions You’d Like to Visit

From the Burj Khalifa to the Museum of the Future, Dubai has plenty of attractions. But these attractions are expensive and could set you back by a few thousand rupees. Tickets to the top sky could set you back by 10,000 INR per adult. And if you’re interested in skydiving, a tandem jump could set you back 30,000 INR. Even entry to the Dubai Frame could set you back by over 1,000 INR per adult. And that is why we suggest making a list of things you need to visit and the ones you can skip. If visiting the Burj Khalifa doesn’t excite you, consider spending the money on other attractions. You can always admire the Burj Khalifa from afar while enjoying the Dubai Fountain Show.

Choose Your Dubai Tour Package Wisely

There are plenty of Dubai tour packages that include a wide range of attractions. You can combine the different regions in the UAE, including Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. Or you may restrict your plans to explore only Dubai and its attractions. We suggest you plan a customized Dubai trip package to ensure all your fantasies come to life.
