Staying at an underwater resort is a captivating and unique experience where you’ll witness breathtaking marine life up close, surrounded by vibrant coral reefs. The tranquillity of the underwater world and the mesmerizing views through your room’s windows will surely create an unforgettable, immersive adventure that’s both peaceful and awe-inspiring. If your Dubai tour package includes a stay at Dubai’s first underwater resort, here’s what you must know beforehand:
The Floating Venice is a proposed hotel and apparently Dubai’s first underwater resort. It is part of The World Islands, an archipelago of tiny artificial islands on the Persian Gulf. The resort is inspired by the Italian city of Venice, including the city’s alleyways, canals, and Piazza San Marco, the city’s main square. This luxury resort can accommodate up to 3,000 guests, offering a variety of luxurious amenities, including floating beaches, restaurants, bars, and boutique shops.
The Floating Venice is designed to be one of the world’s most opulent resorts, spanning the depths of the sea but also protruding on the water’s surface. Guests can enjoy a ringside view of the incredible marine life and the stunning reefs. For a break from all this relaxing, you can explore the resort’s multiple dining options, shops, beaches, and the world’s first underwater spa. The resort will feature over 12 high-end European restaurants and bars, of which 3 will be underwater.
And if you’re worried about the resort’s environmental impact, the developers have also taken care of that. The architects behind the construction, The Kleindienst Group, have grown and planted over 400,000 square feet of coral to ensure a healthy marine ecology.
At the Floating Venice, you can also experience Venice’s cultural and artistic events like the Carnevale di Venezia, Biennale di Venezia, and Festa del Redentore.
Here are a few facts about the under-construction Dubai’s first underwater resort you didn’t know:
The resort will have around 414 suites, out of which 180 will be underwater. Each room will feature elegant interiors and viewing decks and be furnished with luxurious furniture and appliances. The ceiling-to-floor glass walls will offer an extravagant view of the coral gardens around the hotel.
The Floating Venice, albeit an ambitious project, is not opened yet. It will be open shortly, probably in 2024. But if you’re still looking for Dubai tour packages featuring underwater hotels, you can book an underwater suite at The Atlantis, The Palm.
There are two underwater suites at the Atlantis, the Poseidon, and The Neptune, every 165 metres, three-floor residences. You can enter these suites from the third floor via a private elevator. The floor-to-ceiling glass walls open to the hotel’s aquarium, Ambassador Lagoon, and the thousands of marine animals that fill it. When greeted by sharks while lounging in the bathtub or having breakfast in bed, your heart will skip a beat. Facilities include a private butler and free airport transfer. Rates for this hotel start at $8,000 per night.
