Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrive Reykjavik

Meet and greet upon arrival at Reykjavik International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Reykjavik. Check into Hotel by 1400hrs. Rest of the day free at leisure. Overnight at the hotel in Reykjavik.

Day 2 : Reykjavik – Half Day City Tour

Today we proceed to Half day City Tour of Reykjavik. Visit the presidential residence at Bessastaðir and the town of Hafnarfjörður, which is said to be home of the ‘hidden people’ – elves, dwarves and other spirits who are said to live in entire families between the rocks that are dotted around the town centre. This tour will also take you in the town’s old fishing harbour. Then proceed to viewing platform at Perlan, one of the most memorable sights from the capital. It is built on several hot water tanks, which used to hold the city’s hot water supply. From here, you’ll be able to enjoy a spectacular view over Reykjavík. See the Hallgrímskirkja church, named after a national poet and clergyman. Its design is said to resemble lava flow, a key part of the Icelandic landscape. The church took 38 years to complete and today is one of the city’s best-known landmarks and a fantastic observation point. The church is in the old town centre, which you will also be able to take in, alongside the Icelandic parliament Alþingi and the town hall. The Parliament is one of the oldest parliamentary institutions in the world, founded in 930 in the ‘Parliament Plains’, 45km east of Reykjavík. Later we return to Reykjavik and some time to explore the area. Overnight at the hotel in Reykjavik. (B)

Day 3 : Reykjavik – Full Day Tour

Today we proceed to Full Day Tour lasting 8 hours, the Golden Circle Classic Tour takes you on a wondrous circular journey through the heart of Iceland’s Southern Region, stopping at some of Iceland’s most iconic sites.It offer rich history & colliding continents - Þingvellir National Park is an attraction of great historical, geological and cultural significance. Located in a rift valley where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates meet, the UNESCO designated world heritage site is also the birthplace of the Althing—Iceland’s parliament founded in 930 AD—where the nation’s most powerful leaders would meet to decide on legislation and carry out brutal Viking-age justice. The Majestic falls - The tour continues across an area of picturesque scenery to the mighty Gullfoss waterfall. Once there, you can take several paths around the two tiers of cascading water to explore several vantage points. Extra time is allotted at this location for a lunch break at Gullfoss Café. Bubbling with excitement - Home of “The Great Geysir” hot spring, which all geysers are named after, this area is an impressive collage of bubbling mud pools, hissing steam vents, and colourful algae deposits Strokkur geyser puts on quite the show every few minutes blasting boiling water high up into the air. Then the scared site - After a short stop at Faxi waterfall and its fish ladder, allowing salmon to “climb” upstream, we reach Skálholt cathedral and the archaeological museum beneath it. Rich in history, Skálholt was the epicentre of culture, politics and education in Iceland for eight centuries.. Return to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Reykjavik. (B)

Day 4 : Reykjavik - Whale Watching Tour

Today we proceed for Whale Watching Tour. This whale watching tour takes you sailing from Reykjavík out to Faxaflói bay which is home of variety of whales, dolphins, porpoise and other marine life. The local bird life is also diverse, including such birds as the Puffin, Arctic tern, Gannet and many species of gulls. After the tour you can explore the Whale Exhibition Centre where you can find out more about the mysteries of the ocean. It is situated in an old Capelin-fishing vessel “Fífill” which has been transformed into an exhibition and information centre on whales and sea birds. The entrance to the Whale Exhibition Room is free of charge for whale watching passengers. Rest of the day is free at leisure. Overnight at the hotel in Reykjavik. (B)

Day 5 : Depart Reykjavik

Day free at leisure until departure transfer to Airport. (B)
