This stone fortress has witnessed many pivotal moments in Philippine history and guards the city's entrance from Manila Bay. Following the fort visit, drive to Quiapo, the central district often called the heart of Manila. Your first destination is the Philippine Tarsier Foundation in the town of Corella. This sanctuary provides a haven for the world's smallest primate, the tarsier. Witness these rare nocturnal creatures in their natural habitat, marvelling at their agility as they gracefully leap between trees and rotate their heads almost 360 degrees.

Next, venture to Baclayon and take a brief pause at the historic Blood Compact site. Here, the friendship between Spain's Miguel Lopez de Legazpi and Datu Sikatuna, a native chieftain, was sealed with a symbolic drink. Despite recent damage to its bell tower and portico from a powerful earthquake, the church still hosts a museum with an extensive collection of religious art, ecclesiastical vestments, and church music librettos inscribed in Latin on animal skins.

Continue the tour, passing through the Bilar man-made forest—a dense grove of majestic mahogany trees lining the highway toward the Chocolate Hills, one of the country's geological marvels. Pause at the designated viewing area to admire the hills, which change hues with the seasons.
