Itinerary
Day 1 : Arrive Cape Town - Oudtshoorn
Arrive and begin your journey from Cape Town to the Garden Route driving through the Winelands and passing Paarl and Worcester on the way. After driving along the Breede River Valley with its vineyards and fruit orchards we enter the area known as ‘The Little Karoo’. Travel to Mossel Bay. Mossel Bay is a harbour town on the Garden Route in South Africa’s Western Cape Province. It’s known for the wide Santos Beach and the 19th-century Cape St. Blaize Lighthouse, which offers bay views. The Bartolomeu Dias Museum Complex includes the Maritime Museum, the Shell Museum and botanical gardens. The Post Office Tree, a milkwood tree in the complex, has been used as a mail collection point since the 1500s. Overnight at the hotel in Oudtshoorn.
Day 2 : Oudtshoorn - Knysna
Today visit Cango Caves with their incredible stalactite and stalagmite formation. We later proceed to the Cango Wildlife Ranch, where you have an opportunity to touch the world’s fastest animal, the cheetah, at an additional cost. Later in the afternoon we learn how the Ostrich birds are reared at the Ostrich farm and you may also have an opportunity to ride one of these magnificent birds. We then drive over the Outeniqua Mountains to George, also known as ‘the Gateway to the Garden Route’ and the lakes of the Wilderness en route to Knysna. Overnight at the hotel in Knysna. (B)
Day 3 : Knysna - John Behn Cruise
This morning embark on a morning cruise on board the John Benn on the Knysna Lagoon. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at the hotel in Knysna. (B)
Day 4 : Depart Knysna
Today, you will be collected from your hotel and transferred to George Airport, for your onward flight home. (B)
