Wild Wadi Waterpark
Wild Wadi Water Park is one of the first water parks in Dubai. This outdoor water theme park is owned and operated by Jumeirah. It opened in 1999 and is located right next to Burj Al Arab and the Jumeirah Beach Hotel. The theme park is designed around the famous folklore character Juha, a wise old fool, and his beloved donkey. Wild Wadi is located within 12 acres and has over 30 adrenalin-pumping rides, including Juha’s Journey and Juha’s Dhow and Lagoon. And if you’re looking for an adrenalin rush, try the 80 kmph downhill on the 33-metre high Jumeriah Sceirah and the 1.5-metre high waves at Breakers Bay. The theme park has over 14 interconnected rides that are exciting and enjoyable.
The park is open from 10 am to 6 pm from Tuesday to Sunday and is closed on Monday. Ticket prices are around AED 300, but if you stay at one of the Jumeirah Hotels. Every first and third Thursday of the month is Wild Wadi Ladies Night. And if you visit between 8 pm and midnight, you’ll get discounts on your tickets.
Legoland Water Theme Park
The Legoland Water Park is part of the larger Legoland Dubai and is owned by Dubai Parks and Resorts. It is the only water park in Dubai designed exclusively for children 2 to 12 years old. The theme park has over 20 rides, including the popular Splash Safari and Joaker Soaker. There are plenty of family-friendly activities, including Build A Boat, where the whole family can build their boats using Lego bricks, or Build A Raft, where children and parents can design their own raft that floats along the lazy river. For the older children looking for some extra excitement, there’s Tidal Tube, where children can slide down 70 metres in a closed tube.
Ticket prices for Legoland Water Park start at AED 330 per person. But you’ll get a 10% discount if you book in advance. Also, kids under three have free entry. Legoland Water Park is open from 10 am to 5 pm from Thursdays to Tuesdays, except Saturday and Sunday, when it is open until 6 pm. The theme park is closed for maintenance on Wednesdays.
Yas Waterworld
Yas Waterworld opened in 2013 and is managed and operated by Miral Asset Management. It is located on Yas Island, 20 minutes away from Abu Dhabi City. The water park is based on Emirati folklore, where a young local girl, Dana, sets on a quest to find a legendary pearl. There are over 40 rides, including slides, underwater treasure hunts, and lazy rivers. The Liwa Loop freefall drop waterslide isn’t for the fainthearted. To spend some quality family time, go for a crazy river ride on Yadi Yas, or enjoy the wave pool at Amwaj.
Ticket prices for Yas Waterworld start at AED 250 per person, with family tickets that could go up to AED 750. They also have a ladies’ special where your friends can have a blast for just AED 295. Yas Waterworld is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on all days except Saturdays and Sundays, where it is open until 8 p.m.
AquaFun Water Park
This is one of the best water parks in Dubai, owned by Ahmed Ben Chaibah, and the world’s largest inflatable aqua park. It is located on JBR Beach. The theme park’s biggest attraction is the huge float that spells Dubai in giant letters. It can hold up to 100 people at a time. But there are other thrilling fun rides and water slides, including the Black Hole and Kamikaze. And for some family time, gather around the Kids Pool or the Dreamy Stream lazy river.
